My name is Angie & I am a mag-aholic. I simply adore home & design magazine and keep them for up to 10 years (yes that’s right as I recently had to cull them for lack of space in my office and I had Vogue living issues circa 2001). I have cut back my collection now to issues from 2007.
I used to work for a number of design & lifestyle magazines many moons ago which only feed my addiction (worse because every glorious magazine was FREE !!)
Before my beloved magazines hit the recycle bin, I sat down and went through every page of every one and took out my fav articles and images. I have put these pages in a folder and now 5 years worth of 5 different magazines are happily edited to one A4 folder.
I would say that over the past 10 years that magazines have been my greatest source of inspiration for colour and design. Now that is slowly being replaced by all the amazing blogs and images you can source from the internet.
I love my magazine collection and my fav thing to do of a Sunday morning is not to read the papers but rather I choose an old issue of a Home Beautiful and read it like its new again and I am always finding new inspiration from a old mag that has been read many times before.
So this has prompted me to do a series called House of the Week. I will pick my favourite’s that have been featured in the past few years from my magazine library.
